Hi, I'm Julie ... artist, photographer, potter, etc. I am so happy you are here! I consider this blog my creative journal where I can share my recent work, ideas and dreams, and lots of little details about my life. Please make yourself at home. Whether you are a bride-to-be, a photographer, or just a visitor, I hope you will find inspiration here and even become a friend. |
Last week I went to Las Vegas. Every year there is a huge photography convention there called WPPI. Until this year I had never been and I don't usually mind that much because I'm not really a Vegas person. But then there is always that little voice inside that says "you missed out on something." This year my friend Shannon encouraged me to go and I agreed way back in the fall before I realized how much I would have on my plate this month. (You know, I'm planning my wedding and its only 44 days away!) So despite all that I left behind for a week for a seemingly unnecessary trip ... I am SO glad I went. This trip was EXACTLY what I didn't know I needed! I won't even bother will all the photo-geeky details because I know most of you are here to see photos (or, if you're here for the contest scroll to the next post). But I will say that I met some wonderful new friends ... had some amazing conversations ... learned from some of the best photographers in the world ... and found inspiration that I desperately needed. With my business taking a new direction this year, my time at WPPI was extremely valuable for me. My business aside ... the time that I spent with the following three ladies was equally as valuable.
Thank you so much to my WPPI roomies ... we shared a room and we also shared our hearts with each other. I will never forget the conversations, the dreaming, the laughing!
We visited Red Rock Canyon our last day there for some fun photos in the desert. I love the desert colors and I love the desert sun light.
This is Renee of Renee Bouldin Photography
Renee is a wife and a mother of three ... Max, Jack, and Lorelei. I loved hearing her stories all week about her family.
Renee embodies the heart of a mother ... she is also a talented photographer and a really good friend.
Oh, and she is beautiful ... yeah ... three kids and still looks like a model.
This is Amy of Amy Weiland Photography
Amy is from Illinoise and she's a wife and photographer. She is beautiful and fun and she has an inner strength that I was really drawn to.
This photo up on the rocks was her idea. And I love it !
And this is Shannon of Shannon Kelley Photography
I am so proud to call Shannon my dear friend. She is the kind of person who makes a difference in the world and in the lives of the people who know her.
She is beautiful from deep in her soul all the way out.
Shannon is a wife, mother, photographer, humanitarian, amazing friend, and a lot more.
And I'll leave you with just a few photos of myself ... taken by Shannnon. xoxo!
