I knew the instant we arrived at this location that this wedding was going to be special. We were greeted by antique quilts on bails of hay ... and that made me smile big! It was just a little preview of all the amazing details we would see that day.
Kari is so creative ... she had an awesome vision for thier wedding and most of the details were DIY projects.
I have to say that one of the most exciting moments at any wedding ... is getting that dress on. I LOVE Kari's expression ... how exciting!!!

And Louis is super handsome!
Obviously he looks great ... but I love Louis because of the way he loves Kari. He is what I call a "good ole boy". You know, "never meanin' no harm". He is so sincere and he just loves that girl ... you just wait until you see the way he looks at her. You'll understand.

Louis built the arbor for the ceremony. Kari just showed him a picture of what she wanted and he whipped it up.
Sara is my main squeeze when it comes to shooting weddings. I love this one of Kari that Sara got.
Okay, see what I mean? Look at Louis looking at Kari. That is love people. I am happy to say that I know that look because I am loved. And I recognize it when I see it in other peoples' eyes. That's the kind of look that makes life good.
And this is the kind of kiss that makes life REALLY good.
I am glad I'm hilarious. Kari just laughed at me and this is my favorite shot of the day. I love how natural it is.
Kari and Louis were AWESOME to photograph! They wanted to do anything and everything! We just happened to find this truck that belonged to a guest ... and Kari just hopped right up!
I want to tell a little story. Kari shared this with me the morning of the wedding and I just thought it was too wonderful not to share. I hope she doesn't mind!
Louis had made a commitment to himself and let Kari know that he wasn't going to say "I love you" until he was absolutely sure. He didn't want to waste his emotions or affections unless it was the real thing. So on Valentines Day this past year ... Louis had planned a get-away in the mountains with Kari. She was hoping to get an "I love you" that weekend but didn't want to have her hopes up. (I want to say that they had been dating for maybe a year at that point but I can't remember exactly.) Anyway ... there was a lot of snow and difficulty getting to their cabin but once they finally got there they were exhausted! Not only did Louis tell Kari he loved her that night but he also proposed! So Kari said she got an "I love you" and a "will you marry me" all at once. It was overwhelming and very, very happy! The rest is history!
Just a few reception details ... awesome! You should know that Sara worked and worked to make friends with that butterfly and it finally paid off! Beautiful!!! Also, please notice Kari's adorable DIY toss bouquet made from buttons.

So, I'd just like to say thank you so much to Kari and Louis!!! Thank you for having me as your wedding photographer! Thank you for having such a creative, relaxed, and beautiful wedding! But most importantly, thank you for being so in love with each other! I could shoot weddings like yours every day and never get tired of what I do!
