Family :: The Pritchard Family
Oh I am so glad to get back into the swing of photographing sessions and posting blogs. I have three more sessions that Im working on and looking forward to posting here in the next week or so. I am really excited about the new blog ... and I hope that everyone loves it as much as I do!
So the first official post here is Miss Delana Pearl ...
Delana and her mommy and daddy Kara and Merv used to be my neighbors. They were awesome neighbors. Their dog Shy was Bailey's girlfriend - but now that we've moved he is looking for someone new. ;)
Anyway ... Delana just turned 3 months old ... and she is a very curious and adorable little girl. I have to comment on how lucky I get with these babies sometimes ... cause we all know how stressful it can be when a baby is unhappy. But Delana was one of the most content and smiley babies I have ever worked with! She was a dream!
I love this first one ... because she is so alert and observant ... and I think this photos tells that story perfectly ...
I try to make every baby session unique, but the following pose is one that I will try with almost every baby. Its one of those that is such a challenge to get the baby to look and feel comfortable. Sometimes it works out and sometimes it definitely doesn't! But I think Delana mastered it! She made it so easy ... and then she gave me this great curious stare right into the lens. She is on her way to being a super model for sure!
Even though its a common pose, the simplicity of black background forces you to focus on the personality of the baby. And its so true that every baby has a totally unique personality! But beyond personality ... one of my favorite ways to bring unique-ness into someone's portrait session is by having the session in the client's homes. I always get inspired by the decor and style. Kara and Merv were no exception. This next shot is the perfect example of that ... its probably my #1 favorite from the whole session ...
Delana thinks her mommy is hilarious. And this photo cracks me up:
